Prior to Thursday July 10, it had been a quiet summer at Arsenal. And then perfectly, a well orchestrated plan came together.

The finishing touches were put on a deal to sign Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez, for a fee officially undisclosed but believed to be in the region of £28 million with add ons which could take it to £33 million.
